What is the difference between a quiz, a game and a game session?

The icon resembling a phone reception indicator at the bottom left indicates whether or not the player is connected to the current game! It must be green for it to work. If the player ever comes back from a break or lets his phone go to sleep; the connection may be cut! You must then refresh the page to reconnect.

No worries, he will be able to answer the question as long as it is in progress ;)

What do the red/orange/green bars at the bottom left on the player controls correspond to?

Make sure that the players are in the same game session as you! Invite the players to refresh their game page and check that the icon is green at the bottom left of their screen.

If the internet does not pick up well or there has been an outage, it is possible that the players or even you have been disconnected from the game server; refreshing the pages solves the problem 99% of the time.

This can happen if the players return to the place after a break for example; the phone automatically cuts the connection after a period of inactivity.

Players have joined the game but cannot respond, nothing is displayed

The Async game type allows you to propose multiple choice questions on images or simple text for an audience that will play at their own pace.

Once you have clicked on "Start", you choose a session name, define the duration of the game session and you can then retrieve the link to communicate to the players (for example, you can publish it on your social networks).

When players click on the link, they register for the game session and start answering the questions. Players progress at their own pace but they have a time limit to answer each question (which you have defined).

Each answer is validated automatically, points are calculated automatically and awarded.

On the "host" side, you can follow the registrations for the session, the players' scores and you have statistics on the session: number of players who have finished, number of correct answers, etc.

How does an Async game play?

No. Currently, the music is played by the host's computer/phone, which is the host for the game. This device must therefore be able to broadcast the sound to the location where you are.

If you are streaming a game, you must ensure that the main animation screen is broadcasting the sound to your community. The presentation mode at the top right of the animation screen allows you to stream your screen which is broadcasting the music while displaying the game screen ;)

Can players hear the music from their phone?

This can happen with Samsung phones or those with Google's automatic translation enabled. ZeQuiz should detect this and warn users. In any case, this should be disabled and the game page should be displayed with Chrome and not the Samsung browser.

Then, refresh the game page on their phone.

Some players can't join the quiz: it only shows the wallpaper

A game of the "Automatic live multiplayer" type offers the same possibilities as a classic live multiplayer game except that the entire process is automated and for the moment, the questions that can be added to this type of game are limited to MCQs.

All the animation (validation of answers) is managed by ZeQuiz, the host must simply launch the game and can pause / resume the game session: to take a break, to display the scores, etc.

The questions are played automatically and you can set a waiting time between each question.

The scores are displayed automatically at the end of the game!

How does an automatic multiplayer game work?

We offer an interactive guide on the animation screen to guide you step by step. Here is the summary.
<h3>Animation with computer and smartphone / tablet and Screen</h3>
This is the ideal configuration. With a computer connected to the sound system and an external display that players can see.

Now you control the game with your smartphone. The computer only serves as a music and image player.

How to host your game in multiplayer mode with a quizmaster?

In a buzzer-style round, you award a point to the team that provides the correct answer.

For all other types, the process is automated. In "Timer" mode, the faster a team answers, the more points they earn. Points are calculated automatically based on the time allotted for each question, with a minimum of 5 points awarded. In either case, you can adjust participants' scores if errors or disputes arise.

If the question requires typing an answer, bonus points are awarded based on the established scale.

How are points calculated?

You can choose between 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 seconds.
The response time is set at the round level.

How much time are players given to respond?

When you create a game session, you can set a logo that will be displayed on the game screen of the game and on the game interface for players.

Can I set a custom logo on the game screens?

The game screen is what the players see: the scoreboard, the displayed images, the QR code / the game code. This is the page that must be displayed on the television, the bar screens (you can also display this screen via Chromecast)

The url for the players is the game interface for the participants! This is where the players buzz or give their answers.

The url of the remote control allows you, the host, to display the animation interface on your smartphone.

What do the different URLs that are displayed when I start the game animation correspond to?

On the animation interface, you have the scores of each player displayed in real time. You can choose to display the scores on the game screen by clicking on the corresponding icon for the whole game or for the current round!

You can also display the answers to a question by clicking on one of the corresponding icons (in the form of a graph or a word cloud)

Can I display the game scores?

You must make sure you have a good internet connection to play media.

Sometimes Youtube lags and takes time to load music. We advise you to put a minimum quality on your Youtube player to avoid overloading your bandwidth.

The Youtube music I chose is not playing, the player shows loading, what is happening?

When a question is launched, players have a buzzer displayed on their game interface. They just have to press/click when they have the answer.

If you have configured the pause on buzz and a music is playing, it will stop at the first buzz and you have to put it back to continue.

All the buzzes are displayed on the interface and you question the teams. If the answer is correct, you award the correct answer. You can choose to award points to multiple teams.

Each team can only buzz once until you have moved on to the next question or until you have reset the buzzers, they cannot spam.

The correct answer can be displayed before moving on to the next one.

How does a round in buzzer mode take place?

In timer mode, players have a set time to answer. This time period was defined by you when creating the game.
<ul>
 	<li>Players can only answer the question once.</li>
 	<li>Players see if they got a good or bad answer.</li>
</ul>
The faster and better a player answers, the more points they will get! If specific rules have been defined (loss of points, battle royale), these will be applied!

The score calculation is automated once the answer is validated.

How does a round in timer mode work?

Yes of course by displaying the list of questions and clicking on the icon on the right.

This does not apply to the "Live Automatic" or "Async" game mode

Can I choose to display a specific question without following the flow?

The rule on ZeQuiz is simple: one phone per team; that the team is composed of only one player of +.

Within the same game session, players must choose unique game names. A team mode will soon be offered (X players play for the same team with each their phone)

Are the players alone or in teams?

By going to the url (or scanning the QR code) of the game provided by the host with their smartphone, tablet. They will have to choose a nickname and that's it!

In Async mode, there is no need to define an access code. For other modes, players choose a 4-digit access code allowing them to return to the game in case their phone disconnects or has no more battery!

How do players join a game?

You can create test sessions to check the sequence of questions, game mechanics, etc.

These test sessions are not deducted from the total allocated to your subscription (if applicable) and are limited to two players.

Can I test a game I created?

If you exceed the number of players allowed in a session, new players will no longer be able to join the game! If you need more players occasionally, contact us before the event to resolve the situation.

What happens if I exceed the number of players allowed in a session?

Yes, in buzzer mode you can choose to stop the music as soon as someone buzzes or not. You have full control over media playback in buzz mode (pause, play, forward, backward)

In buzzer mode, can I configure how the playback takes place?

Yes, by clicking on the score next to the team you can change the total. You can also cancel/enable the awarding of points for a question in progress.

Can I correct players' points?

Yes by clicking on leave the game. Be careful if he changes during the game, his points will not be automatically transferred to the new player. The host can change the names directly from the hosting interface.

Can a player change his name?

To host a game of ZeQuiz in videoconference with Teams, Discord, Twitch ... the process is the same as that of an IRL game but you must share your main animation screen so that the players can hear the music!

We advise you to:

Yes, no problem if you want to combine several quizzes by adding rounds.

Can I put multiple quizzes in one game?

If you have a Youtube playlist with a series of music, you can import this playlist with one click with the URL.

Be careful, the Youtube playlist must not be private during the import.

Should I add all the questions one by one?

Yes! No problem, Zequiz will display them in a slideshow automatically during a game in Timer mode.

In Buzz mode, you can choose to display them at the time you decide: to do this, in the game options, you must deactivate "auto slide images".

Can I put multiple images for one question?

MP3 files are allowed for some offers. You can add images of type:

<p>Personal Data shall be deleted upon account deletion or upon the Client’s request, subject to applicable legal retention obligations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>8. Instructions of the Client</strong></h2>



<p>GolriGames shall process Personal Data only on documented instructions from the Client and within the scope of the normal use of the Services.</p>



<p>The Client determines, in particular:</p>

<li>the categories of data collected;</li>



<li>the purposes of processing;</li>



<li>retention periods;</li>



<li>communications made to Data Subjects.</li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>9. Client Obligations</strong></h2>



<p>The Client undertakes to:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>comply with applicable data protection laws;</li>



<li>provide appropriate information to Data Subjects;</li>



<li>obtain all required consents where necessary;</li>



<li>refrain from collecting <strong>Special Categories of Personal Data</strong> within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR via the platform;</li>



<li>not use the Services for unlawful purposes.</li>
</ul>



<p>The Client remains solely responsible for the lawfulness of the processing carried out via its use of the Services.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>10. GolriGames Obligations</strong></h2>



<p>GolriGames undertakes to:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>process Personal Data solely for the purpose of providing the Services;</li>



<li>ensure the confidentiality of Personal Data;</li>



<li>implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures;</li>



<li>restrict access to Personal Data to authorized personnel only;</li>



<li>notify the Client without undue delay in the event of a Personal Data Breach.</li>
</ul>



<p>GolriGames shall not claim any ownership rights over Personal Data processed on behalf of the Client.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>11. Sub-processors</strong></h2>



<p>GolriGames may engage sub-processors for the provision of the Services, including for:</p>

<li>hosting;</li>



<li>cloud infrastructure;</li>



<li>payment processing;</li>



<li>technical service providers.</li>
</ul>



<p>GolriGames shall ensure that such sub-processors are bound by data protection obligations equivalent to those set out in this DPA.</p>

<p>Taking into account the nature of the processing, GolriGames shall assist the Client, to the extent reasonably possible, in:</p>

<li>ensuring compliance with GDPR obligations.</li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Introduction</h2>



<p>In order to operate and manage <a href="http://zequiz.com">zequiz.com</a> (the Site)—acting as a controller under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)—<strong>GolriGames</strong> (the Company) may collect data from the user(s).</p>



<p>ZeQuiz, hereinafter referred to as the “Service,” is a SaaS solution that allows the Customer to host interactive games for an audience of players in real time via web browsers. The Service is available on the websites <a href="http://dashboard.zequiz.com">dashboard.zequiz.com</a> and <a href="http://api.zequiz.com">api.zequiz.com</a> , as well as the domain and subdomains of <em>zequiz.live</em></p>



<p>In order to operate and manage the Service, the Company collects data from registered Users.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Preamble</h2>



<p>The Company upholds the highest standards of privacy and takes all necessary measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of user data.</p>

<p>Data necessary for using the service is retained for the entire duration of the contract.</p>



<p>In the event of prolonged account inactivity, data may be deleted after a maximum period of <strong>3 years without activity</strong>, unless otherwise required by law. Activity includes, in particular, logging into the account or using the service.</p>



<p>If the account is deleted, this data is deleted within a maximum of <strong>15 days</strong>, unless otherwise required by law.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5.3 Data Collected Through Quizzes</h3>



<p>Certain data may be collected by quiz organizers via the service.</p>



<p>This data is collected under the organizer’s responsibility. The Company acts solely as a technical service provider and does not use it for its own purposes.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5.4 Technical Data and Security</h3>



<p>Technical data necessary for the security of the service (including connection logs and IP addresses) may be retained for a maximum period of <strong>12 months</strong>.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5.5 Billing data</h3>



<p>Data necessary for billing is retained for <strong>10 years</strong>, in accordance with legal obligations.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>6. Cookies</strong></h2>



<p>While users are browsing the Site, the Company may use cookies stored on the user’s hard drive.</p>

<p>Marketing cookies are used to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns implemented by the Company via Microsoft Ads, Google Ads, or Facebook Ads.</p>



<p>These cookies are identified by the following names:<em>MUID</em>,<em>_uetvid</em>,<em>_uetsid</em>,<em>_uetsid_exp</em>,<em>_uetvid_exp</em>,<em>MSPTC</em>.</p>

<p>Statistical cookies collect information about how you use the site (cookies with the prefixes _pk, matomo, mtm). The data is stored and managed solely by Golrigames using the Matomo solution (a sovereign solution).</p>

<p>As part of the artificial intelligence features offered by the Service, we process only the content you choose to submit to these features.</p>



<p>Your account data (identity, contact information, billing details, settings, login logs, etc.) is never used by these AI processing operations. These operations are performed on your behalf, potentially with specialized service providers (OpenAI) subject to strict security and confidentiality obligations, without using your content to train models without your consent.</p>



<p>Prompts, outputs, and technical logs may be retained for traceability and security purposes for twelve (12) months, after which they are deleted or anonymized.</p>
