Game types: live, async, automated, or with an host.
ZeQuiz offers three ways to play a multiplayer game.

How to choose ?
- Want a live event, a show, and all the modes (powers, teams, drawing)? → Live with a host.
- Want a live event without a host, with fixed content and multiple-choice questions? → Automated live event.
- Want an asynchronous quiz running over several days, requiring no on-site equipment? → Asynchronous.
You can combine all three over the same period: a delayed broadcast on social media (1 week), followed by a live session with a host in the evening, and then an automated session the next day.
Live with a host
Each participant competes against everyone else in a live game managed entirely by a host. This is the most flexible mode: you control the pace, and you can skip questions, reorder them, display scores at any time, activate power-ups, manage teams, and more.
💡 This is the mode that unlocks all question types and all options (powers, teams, drawing, buzz, etc.).
Live automated
Each participant competes against all others in a live game run without a host. All game mechanics such as validating answers, sequencing questions, and displaying scores at the end are handled by ZeQuiz.
What you do :
- You start the game.
- You can pause or resume at any time (to display scores, take a break, etc.).
- You have pre-set a waiting time between questions.
Constraints:
- Questions are limited to multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- It is not possible to skip or reorder a question during the game.
- Limited to Q&A: no buzzer rounds, drawing rounds, or category rounds.
- Scores are displayed automatically at the end of the game.
For whom? Events where you don't have a dedicated host, trade shows, and activities where the content is already finalized and won't change.
Async
Each participant competes against the others, but the game is not played in real time: the game session lasts between one day and three months, and players participate at their own convenience while the game is available. At the end, the winner is determined.
As for the players:
- They join the session, choose a nickname, and play at their own pace.
- They see whether their answer was correct or incorrect (configurable).
From the organizer's perspective:
- You can track session registrations and player scores, and access statistics (such as the number of players who finished, the number of correct answers, etc.).
- Everything can be exported to Excel or as an image.
- To follow the progress of a session, click "Follow" on the game page.
Constraints:
- Questions are limited to text, images, and MP3s.
- It is not possible to select or reorder questions during a session.
- Scores cannot be modified once the session has started.
- No advanced modes: no buzzer, no powers, no drawing…
For whom? Social media (weekly contests, brand quizzes), trade shows (visitors play whenever they want), internal corporate challenges, and school quizzes designed to be completed over several days.
